ECO-PULSE™ Centella

This eco-friendly Centella asiatica extract is produced using a pulsed electrical field process, or PEF, which has been certified under Korea’s Low Carbon Green Growth Act for its sustainable and environmentally friendly technology. The method reduces energy consumption and carbon emissions by 22.4%, and works by applying a non-thermal, high-voltage pulsed process in a short time. This creates an extract with higher concentrations of Centella asiatica’s four key components: madecassic acid, Asiatic acid, madecassoside, and Asiaticoside — compared to traditional heat extraction. This process also enhances the soothing effects of the extract, so it is ideal for both skin-calming and sustainable beauty products.

Product description
ECO-PULSE™ Centella utilizes a technology originally applied in the food industry, newly adapted for the cosmetics industry. It preserves the freshness of raw materials while enabling rapid, efficient extraction. The process reduces thermal energy use and carbon emissions by over 20%, earning Green Technology Certification(GT-19-00697). Optimization trials identified conditions that maximize extraction efficiency with minimal energy consumption, confirming significant thermal energy savings. This eco-friendly product aligns with clean beauty and ethical consumption trends driven by environmental concerns, meeting consumer demands for soothing effects and vegan-friendly ingredients while promoting sustainability.
Claims & Benefits
ECO-PULSE™ Centella is an eco-friendly centella asiatica extract produced using a PEF (Pulsed Electric Field) process certified under Korea's Low Carbon Green Growth Act(GT19-00697) for its sustainable and environmentally friendly technology. This method reduces energy consumption and carbon emissions by over 20%. By applying a non-thermal, high-voltage pulsed process in a short time, we confirmed increased yields and higher concentrations of four key components—Madecassic acid, Asiatic acid, Madecassoside, and Asiaticoside—compared to traditional heat extraction. Additionally, the soothing effects were enhanced, making this extract ideal for skin-calming care and sustainable beauty products.
Technical details
ECO-PULSE™ Centella is composed of Centella Asiatica Extract, Butylene Glycol, and Water. Through the optimization of the PEF process, energy consumption and carbon emissions were reduced by over 20%, resulting in an extract powder. This powder is diluted with water and butylene glycol to produce a light yellow, transparent liquid. The product is packaged in 5kg and 20kg EcoVent containers. Stability testing of the prototype has been completed, and promotional activities have already begun domestically this year. The product has been successfully patented in South Korea and will be showcased at Cosmoprof Bologna 2025 to introduce it to the global market.

What sets your product apart and why is it innovative and special?
In the cosmetics market, consumer trends are shifting from clean beauty to a stronger focus on sustainable beauty. To meet these evolving consumer needs, we developed a centella asiatica extract using an eco-friendly extraction process. For process optimization, we utilized the Box-Behnken design program. The optimization focused on three key parameters: time, voltage, and frequency. The identified optimal conditions were 1 second for time, 50V for voltage, and 30Hz for frequency. To calculate the energy-saving effect, we measured the Total Energy Consumption (kJ) and determined the Energy Saving (%) and Energy Efficiency Improvement (%). Through carbon emission calculations, we confirmed that both energy consumption and carbon emissions were reduced by 22.42%. ECO-PULSE™ Centella is a sustainable centella asiatica extract that not only reduces energy consumption by over 20% but also enhances the concentration of active compounds, delivering superior skin benefits. This innovative approach combines environmental responsibility with high efficacy, setting our product apart in the market.
