Giovanni Sgariboldi, Chief Executive Officer

Founded in 1978 in Cavenago Brianza by Giovanni Sgariboldi, Euroitalia Srl started as a small company specializing in licensed perfume brands. Today, it stands as a global leader in the creation and distribution of perfumes, fragrances, and cosmetic products, operating in 157 countries with 95% of the production exported worldwide.
Born in 1943 in Caselle Landi, a small town in Northern Italy, Giovanni Sgariboldi is the Chief Executive Officer of Euroitalia Srl, the company he founded to manage licensed perfume brands. His professional career began at the age of 15, working as a salesclerk in a stationery store. He later transitioned into the pharmaceutical industry, before advancing to a leadership role in a cosmetics company, where he became Sales Manager. Leveraging his extensive experience, Sgariboldi founded Euroitalia in 1978 with the goal of bringing Italian perfumery to the global stage, challenging France’s dominance in the luxury fragrance industry.
Euroitalia's initial portfolio featured the proprietary Reporter brand, overseeing the entire product lifecycle—from fragrance development to marketing strategy. Giovanni Sgariboldi's leadership combines deep market knowledge with strategic investment in research and development, alongside a meticulous selection of raw materials.
This commitment laid the foundation for Euroitalia’s first licensing agreements, securing partnerships with renowned brands such as Enrico Coveri, Naj Oleari, and El Charro. At the end of the 1980s, Sgariboldi started a collaboration with the Maison Moschino, launching the iconic Cheap & Chic fragrance. This perfume, later exhibited at the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York, marked Euroitalia’s breakthrough into international markets. In 1992, the company further reinforced its global reputation by securing a licensing agreement with Dolce&Gabbana. Over a 13-year collaboration, Sgariboldi led the creation of Dolce & Gabbana Parfum and Light Blue, fragrances that remain among the world's best-selling perfumes. In 2005, Giovanni guided Euroitalia to become the official licensee of Versace fragrances, redefining the brand’s position in the luxury perfumery industry with a series of highly successful product lines. Under Sgariboldi’s leadership, Euroitalia has also expanded its global presence, establishing EuroItalia USA and, more recently, EuroItalia Suisse, reinforcing its reach in key international markets. A hallmark of Euroitalia’s success lies in Sgariboldi’s rigorous research and development process. He personally oversees the creative journey, working closely with world-class perfume noses to craft exceptional fragrances—a process that can take up to two years to ensure perfection. Today, Euroitalia’s licensing portfolio includes its proprietary brands Reporter, Naj Oleari, Atkinsons, and I Coloniali, alongside prestigious licensed brands such as Versace, Moschino, Missoni, Dsquared2, Michael Kors, and Brunello Cucinelli. Demonstrating a strong commitment to sustainability, the company has developed biodegradable perfumes crafted from natural raw materials and hi-tech molecules, eliminating harmful substances to ensure consumer safety while reducing environmental impact. Euroitalia operates from a 27,000-square-meter facility in Cavenago Brianza, where the entire production chain is proudly Made in Italy, leveraging the country's renowned expertise, quality, and creativity. In recognition of his remarkable contributions to the industry, Giovanni Sgariboldi was honored as a Cavaliere del Lavoro in 2024. He also received the Certificate of Excellence from the University of Ferrara in 2021, an award given to outstanding cosmetics industry leaders who have demonstrated exceptional entrepreneurship and innovation. carrying forward his vision and legacy, his three sons—Davide, Matteo, and Andrea—are actively involved in the management and growth of the company.
