Sustainability Credentials & Certifications
As a retail business incorporating direct online sales, Captain Fawcett is particularly alert to the challenges of ensuring high quality goods are well protected in transit, attractively packaged for the customer experience and also fulfilling the best current environmental and sustainable practice.
At Fawcett HQ everything is recycled wherever possible. As such very little waste is generated, no more than one bin bag per week.
For packaging wherever practical we use materials which are PEFC certified for their base fibres whilst using the highest recycled content possible for the application. This ranges from 15% to 70% across all Captain Fawcett packaging.
All printing and gluing is conducted using water based inks, varnishes and glues, meaning that all Captain Fawcett packaging is 100% recyclable and can be looped back into the supply chain.
Our plastic bottles are made in the UK, thus reducing carbon footprint. They are made from PET 100% PCR. (Post Consumer Regrind) which is recycled plastic that would otherwise go to landfill. Where safe and practical we use glass bottles and aluminium tins which are 100% recyclable.
This is an ever-evolving area and Captain Fawcett is committed to monitoring and updating practice when new solutions are developed.
